Using the right cleaner can make a world of difference!
Not only does clean glass look better, it makes the whole driving experience safer and less stressful. Windshield wipers are great for a quick clean on the road, but they don’t remove everything and sometimes end up smearing bugs and other grime on the glass. The only way to ensure your glass is always clean is by cleaning it yourself with a quality cleaner that gives great results. In a just a few minutes each day, you can be confident your ride looks its best and that you will have a clear view of the road around you. The type and quality of cleaner you use will determine the end result.

Glass cleaners are not all the same
As you may be aware, many glass cleaners that you find on store shelves contain a chemical call ammonia. Ammonia is found in many household cleaners, however when used for cleaning glass it has several negative effects.

Ammonia can release harmful fumes that should not be inhaled. Using ammonia-based glass cleaners in small enclosed spaces like the interior of your vehicle can result in inhaling these fumes. Ammonia will also dry out plastics, rubber, vinyl and leather.

Many of our customers have tinted windows, and ammonia should never be used on window tint! It will cause the tint film to discolor and peel, and is actually a popular solution in the removal of window tint.
For the best results on all of your vehicle’s glass, use an ammonia-free cleaner. Some people use only water to clean their windows instead of a cleaning solution, however water is not a strong solvent and will not remove much of the grime that accumulates on windows, windshields and mirrors.

Ammonia-free glass cleaner
Many ammonia-free glass cleaning products are available, and most will work well on your vehicle’s windows. We recommend avoiding store-shelf products and sticking with a cleaner designed specifically for automotive use, like Aquapel Glass Cleaner.

Aquapel Glass Cleaner is ammonia-free, so it won’t hurt your tint, and sprays on and wipes off easily. Unlike cleaners that spray on as a liquid, Aquapel sprays on as a fast-acting foam that won’t run or drip on vertical surfaces.

  • Safe for use on vinyl, fiberglass, laminates and other nonporous surfaces
  • Leaves no film or residue
  • Contains no ozone-depleting chemicals
  • Leaves behind a fresh aroma

Other ammonia-free glass cleaners will also be sufficient, but we recommend Aquapel Glass Cleaner after seeing the results for ourselves, which is why we make Aquapel available for purchase at our facility. When you stop by for auto glass repair or replacement, ask us about Aquapel Glass Cleaner!
